We are seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager - PMO to join our client’s growing team to contribute to the successful execution of their digital strategy, technology systems, information management, and innovation initiatives
- This is a 6-month contract based in Brisbane in a hybrid capacity.
- Closing date for the role is 26/09/2025
- 2 x 6 months extension possibility’s
About the role:
You will ensure the PMO function to assist the delivery of digital programs and projects with precision, consistency, and clear visibility.
Your leadership will scale resources, drive standardised processes, efficiency, and uphold rigorous quality and reporting standards to guarantee that every initiative meets its objectives on time and within scope.
Under the Portfolio there is 9 large projects such as :
- Cyber and security
- Payroll
- Application Projects
- Data related projects
- Regulatory projects
- ERP implementation
Key Responsibilities:
- 10+ years' experience in portfolio governance, enterprise PMO leadership, or program assurance roles in financial services, banking, or large-scale public institutions.
- Deep experience in project/program delivery - able to challenge timelines, scope, and resource plans credibly based on firsthand experience.
- Proven success preparing and presenting business cases, investment papers, and executive-level documentation.
- Experience with enterprise prioritisation across BAU, regulatory, and transformation portfolios.
Skills & Attributes
- Strong governance mindset, with ability to manage high-risk, high-visibility programs and investment decisions.
- Establishing and coordinating effective governance arrangements for projects and other initiatives, and work collaboratively with the peer Heads of Governance, Comms and Assurance, Head of Technology and Vendor Management including stakeholders, vendors and technology partners.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment with multiple stakeholders and high expectations.
- Outstanding written communication and executive presence - this role shapes decisions, not just reports them.
- Solid leadership skills - able to guide, coach, and develop high-performing EPMO teams.
