Position Description
A major Australian commercial law firm is expanding its Energy practice in Melbourne to support strong deal flow and a growing pipeline of work. The team advises clients across the energy and infrastructure ecosystem, including developers, financiers, sponsors, asset owners and government stakeholders, on complex transactional matters spanning conventional and renewable energy, resources and major infrastructure.
In this role you will contribute to a variety of projects, including:
* Advising on infrastructure and energy project development and delivery
* Supporting commercial and corporate transactions, including M&A and structuring work
* Assisting on procurement and contract negotiation for large-scale infrastructure and energy assets
* Working on financing and commercial arrangements related to major energy and resources initiatives
* Collaborating with other practice groups to deliver integrated, commercially sound outcomes for clients

Key Requirements
The ideal candidate will have 3–7 years' post-admission experience in a large commercial law environment and will demonstrate:
* Strong experience in energy, infrastructure, resources or major projects work
* Excellent legal drafting, technical analysis and problem-solving skills
* Commercial awareness and ability to deliver practical advice
* Clear and confident communication with clients and colleagues
* Ability to mentor junior team members and build enduring professional relationships
