About the Role
This position involves working with technical equipment and instrumentation to support availability, quality control, and access for researchers to the EM shared resource laboratory. This includes preparing, setting up, calibrating, and configuring equipment, maintaining and servicing it, troubleshooting and supporting users, managing consumables, overseeing data management and backups, and processing and imaging samples.
The successful candidate will also provide technical support and scientific services to facilitate research through the Westmead Research Hub. This will involve working with PPMS and other relevant systems in administration, documentation, booking, compliance, and auditing of projects. The candidate will report on project progress, problems, and ensure efficient operation of the technical side of the EM facility.
Responsibilities
* Work with technical equipment and instrumentation to support availability, quality control, and access for researchers to the EM shared resource laboratory.
* Provide technical support and scientific services to facilitate research through the Westmead Research Hub.
* Manage consumables, oversee data management and backups, and process and image samples.
* Report on project progress, problems, and ensure efficient operation of the technical side of the EM facility.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, the following qualifications and skills are required:
* Tertiary qualifications of at least a bachelor's degree in Science or an equivalent recognized qualification.
