The Opportunity
We're seeking an experienced Investment Manager – Direct Investments to join IBA's high-performing Investment & Asset Management team.
You'll play a key role in identifying, evaluating, executing and managing investments and project finance transactions that generate commercial returns and positive social impact for Indigenous Australians.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute investment strategies aligned with IBA's mission.
* Source and evaluate investment and project finance opportunities.
* Conduct thorough due diligence, financial modelling and impact assessments.
* Prepare and present recommendations to investment committees and the IBA Board.
* Manage and monitor existing investments and loans, including governance, performance reporting, risk management, and divestments.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with Indigenous stakeholders, commercial partners and government entities.
What You Bring:
* At least 2 years' experience at a manager level in corporate finance, commercial transactions, private equity or similar.
* Strong financial modelling and valuation skills, with commercial acumen and strategic thinking.
* A tertiary qualification in commerce, economics, law, accounting, or related discipline is essential.
* Additional professional qualifications (e.g. CPA, CA, CFA, MBA, MAppFin, MCom) highly regarded.
* Strong understanding of investment structures, project finance, legal documentation and corporate governance.
* Commitment to working ethically and respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, with cultural capability and awareness of their economic aspirations.
* Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
