Job Summary
In this role, you will lead implementation and monitoring of a project quality program and provide technical direction to peers. You will define and implement system tools and procedures, develop metrics and goals, facilitate causal analysis teams, and provide oversight of design validation and final inspection activities. You will ensure quality in high impact activities that are key to project success. Supervise the delivery of the project to ensure the project is delivered to scope, quality, time and budget within the Business' objectives for Safety, Security and Environmental standards.
Major Responsibilities
* Participate in review of plans, procedures and records and attend regular construction and quality related meetings for assigned sub-area.
* Coordinate targeted assessments to enable the timely mitigation of technical and project risks.
* Apply quality engineering principles to design reviews, analyses, quality program plans, and other documentation.
* Assist in monitoring and reporting of quality programme metrics and analysis as leading quality indicators.
* Monitor the contractor's quality performance for assigned program through assurance tools including surveillances and audits and where identified use a collaborative approach to solve audit and/or surveillances findings.
* Participates in the closed loop corrective action process.
* Lead auditor in AS/NZS ISO 19011:2014 – Guidelines for auditing management systems.
Education And Experience Requirements
* Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
* Bachelor's degree in engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or QA-focused)
* Auditor certification is highly regarded
Required Knowledge And Skills
* 5+ years in quality assurance or quality control within civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering
* Familiarity with construction protocols, CASA regulations, and ICAO standards
* Proven ability to manage inspection test plans (ITPs), non-conformance reports (NCRs), and quality audits
* Experience with materials compliance, welding inspections, and as-built documentation
Additional Skills
* Strong understanding of quality management systems (QMS) and construction codes
* Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements
* Proficiency in QA/QC documentation, traceability, and handover packages
* Excellent communication for liaising with contractors, consultants, and authorities
* Working knowledge of Australian Standards, specifications and codes.
* Proficient in the use of project information systems, with preference for Aconex
* MS Office Skills – Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, etc.
