Overview
Join Our Team in Williamstown. We are seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Surface Finisher to join our Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Services team at RAAF Base Williamstown. You will support the Wedgetail E-7A and work with the Australian Defence Force to ensure aircraft readiness for critical tasks. Your knowledge of Aviation Quality Assurance procedures and experience as a maintenance certifier or trade supervisor will be assets to our team. Health and safety are priorities; you will follow EH&S policies and procedures.
Requirements: Certificate III in Aircraft Surface Finishing and at least two years of experience. You do not need a Defence aviation background to succeed; we welcome applicants from all aviation trades. If you hold Fixed or Rotary Wing qualifications with General, Civil, or Defence Aviation experience, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
* Surface Finishing: Conduct and certify ASURFIN tasks, including surface coating applications and aircraft markings in various environments.
* Collaboration: Work with maintenance planning on aircraft servicing tasks.
* Self-Certification: Certify completed tasks using the electronic maintenance system.
* Record Keeping: Maintain accurate maintenance records for paint facility components.
* Touch-Ups: Perform necessary paint touch-ups on unit vehicles.
* Task Completion: Execute surface finisher tasks.
* Inventory Management: Order and manage supplies for surface finisher tasks.
* Safety Standards: Uphold WHS practices in the paint shop and report issues.
* Training: Supervise and train junior technicians in surface finishing.
* Documentation: Keep records of non-aircraft tasks in the paint shop.
* Facility Management: Oversee the SURFIN operations.
Necessary Requirements
* Certificate III in Aeroskills (Surface Finishing)
* Class C driver's license
* Australian Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a BASELINE clearance
* Security Clearance: You must complete the vetting process for a government security clearance (BASELINE) sponsored by BDA
Note: Accommodation, relocation assistance, and allowances are provided as applicable. Fortnightly wage: $3,105.73 (AME3), plus superannuation and allowances based on experience. Roster: Rotating Monday to Friday with an early finish on Fridays.
