Your Opportunity
This position offers the chance to work on multiple projects for public and private sector clients. As an Electrical Engineering Technician/Technologist, you will be part of a dynamic team that challenges abilities in a fast-paced work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaboration: Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure design intent compatibility.
2. Design Support: Assist the project team in developing design, documentation, plans, and reports for electrical system components.
3. Circuit Analysis: Perform calculations to analyze and design electrical systems.
4. Problem-Solving: Apply proactive and analytical skills to deliver robust electrical models.
5. Design Coordination: Assist in coordinating design and specifications within a multidisciplinary design team.
6. Equipment Management: Develop and update equipment and tag lists.
7. Technical Review: Review shop drawings for key technical information.
8. Site Observation: Conduct site observation and inspection activities during design or construction phases.
9. Quality Control: Perform thorough quality control of construction documents and provide design ideas and solutions.
Qualifications
Capabilities and Credentials:
1. Teamwork: Ability to work with others on large complex projects.
2. Industry Knowledge: Working knowledge of electrical CEC code and industry standards such as IEEE, ANSI, API, and CSA.
3. Problem-Solving: Ability to solve problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation.
4. Software Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant software programs including AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam/Adobe Acrobat.
5. Communication: Effective written and verbal communication skills.
6. Time Management: Able to work under and meet tight deadlines.
7. Technical Awareness: Recognizes when technical problems are developing and initiates appropriate corrective actions.
Education and Experience
1. Electrical Engineering Background: Electrical Engineering Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Experience Requirement: Minimum of 5-6 years of experience in electrical system design and drafting on water/wastewater infrastructure projects.
