Overview
Skippers Transport has been providing transport services in Perth originating in 1961. A position has become available at our Welshpool operation for a Transport Fleet Controller in the busy Container/Transport Division.
Your primary responsibility in this critical role is to provide ultimate fleet control, deliver excellent customer service with a polite and accurate phone manner, support operational staff and the Operations Manager, and ensure total customer satisfaction both internally and externally. Safety must be at the forefront of all delegations.
Responsibilities
* Provide fleet control and ensure effective coordination of transport activities.
* Have prior knowledge of Wharf Operations.
* Minimum 5 years experience within the transport industry.
* Provide exceptional customer service.
* Communicate on all levels, ensuring direction is clear and concise.
* Work autonomously when required.
* Forward plan, schedule daily and weekly activities, and solve ad hoc transport issues.
* Ability to multi-task and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
* Be a team player with a positive attitude.
Your skills and expertise
* Strong phone-based customer service skills.
* Ability to prioritise and be organised with your work.
* Strong computer skills, including in-house Transport Management Systems, MS Office, 1-Stop, Container Chain, and other transport industry-related programs.
* Prior experience in an administration, coordination, or phone-based customer service role within the container transport industry is advantageous.
Key duties and responsibilities
* Provide excellence in customer service to all external and internal customers.
* Ensure all administration related to daily transport activity is accurately kept up to date.
* Assist coordination of internal drivers and subcontractor drivers.
* Maintain customer relationships through trust, reliability and exceeding expectations, especially when time frames are tight and compliance/documentation requirements are high.
