Senior Medical Education Manager, ANZ
The Senior Medical Education Manager (MEM), ANZ, is responsible for providing leadership, clinical insight, and strategic direction for the development and implementation of AWM Medical Education in the ANZ Cluster. This is a senior individual contributor and people leadership role and sits as a senior member within the regional team with dotted-line management responsibility for the Japan Medical Education headcount.
What will you be doing?
Strategy & Programme Management
* Conduct an annual needs assessment for ANZ programmes to ensure customers receive education tailored to their clinical learning needs.
* Develop an aligned and integrated MedEd Strategic Plan annually.
* Lead the Surgical Site Complication (SSC) prevention strategy across ANZ and Japan, ensuring alignment with regional commercial priorities and surgical best practice
Clinical Faculty & KEL Management
* Build and maintain a regional KEL (Key Education Leader) network across surgical specialties, with a particular focus on Orthopaedics and Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
* Identify, develop, and manage HCPs to serve as faculty and consultants, with faculty assignments based on experience and recognised surgical expertise
People Leadership
* Provide dotted-line management and oversight of the Japan Medical Education headcount.
* Coach and develop team members, including setting performance goals, running structured reviews, and managing development plans.
Measurement & Return on Education (ROE)
* Own regional ROE reporting, including CRM-based programme tracking, delegate engagement metrics, and post-programme evaluation.
* Ensure logistics related to programmes — including registrations, course information, and post-course evaluation data analysis — are managed to a high standard.
Content Development & Resources
* Leverage resources and expertise at global, regional, and country levels to develop MedEd agendas and content, including leading evidence-based medical education programme and curriculum development.
What will you need to be successful?
* Bachelor's Degree in healthcare, medical education, business or related field.
* Post grad qualification in medical Education or equivalent demonstrated expertise through 10 years of progressive medical education programme design and delivery within a medical device, pharma or clinical setting.
* Previous experience working in a surgical environment, specifically in Orthopaedics or Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
* Proven people management experience — able to lead, develop, and hold accountable direct or dotted-line reports.
* Demonstrated experience designing and delivering medical education programmes to HCP audiences, with a strong surgical education focus.
