Classification: Municipal Officer Level 3

Agreement: Hobart City Council Enterprise Agreement 2024

Salary range: $91,138 to $93,969 per annum + 13.5% superannuation.

About the role


The role is responsible for facilitating Council's tendering and procurement processes and providing advice and assistance to internal and external stakeholders. The role will support the City's goods, servicing, project and construction procurement activities.

Role accountabilities include:

* Provide end-to-end delivery of tender and other procurement process; applying and adapting established procedures to suit the required context whilst ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, codes of practice and policies.
* Finalise the tender and other procurement processes including issuing notifications to successful and unsuccessful tenders, assembling contract documents for execution and the preparation of contracts under seal and debriefing unsuccessful tenderers.
* Undertake tender, contract and supplier negotiations and develop and improve those relationships.
* Monitor and analyse supplier performance including undertaking research and analysis.
* Provide well researched and concise reports and documentation on procurement activities that can be easily understood by non specialists.
* Maintain an awareness of the relevant legal and regulatory framework for local government procurement in Tasmania including relevant industry best practice, standards and regulations related to procurement.

About you


Bring your procurement expertise to a role where your impact is visible and valued. You'll hold a diploma level qualification in a relevant discipline, such as Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or Legal Studies and either know, or can quickly master, the legislative and legal framework of Local Government procurement.

You're confident drafting and developing tender and contract documents, producing well‑structured, clear and concise reports that non‑specialists can easily understand. You thrive on problem solving, research and analysis, and you're a trusted communicator, able to liaise, consult, provide advice and negotiate effectively, building strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including suppliers.
