We are seeking a Senior Tester to lead the strategy, planning, and execution of functional and non-functional testing for the transition of core applications to the cloud.
You will provide authoritative guidance to cross-functional teams, ensuring cloud-native or migrated solutions are robust, secure, and aligned with program objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Test Strategy & Alignment - Lead the development of comprehensive test plans for cloud transitions. Ensure all activities strictly align with the overarching Test Strategy and broader project goals.
* End-to-End Test Management - Plan, prepare, execute, and report on all functional and non-functional test levels. This includes defining test data requirements, identifying cloud-based testing environments, and managing the full defect lifecycle.
* Requirements Analysis - Perform reviews of high-level and detailed requirements (and User Stories). Determine execution sequences and identify technical dependencies to optimize testing timelines.
* Estimation & Planning - Provide testing effort estimates and resource requirements to project leadership to support delivery schedules.
* Technical Leadership - Provide mentorship and knowledge sharing across the development and testing squads (Developers, Test Managers, and Analysts). Actively contribute to succession planning and team capability building.
* UAT & Stakeholder Support - Lead the planning and execution of User Acceptance Testing (UAT), collaborating effectively with business owners and cross-functional teams to ensure the solution meets user needs.
* Cloud & COTS Oversight - Manage testing for complex solution deliveries involving COTS products, including the configuration and customization of Out-of-the-Box (OOTB) features.
The Must Haves:
* SDLC & Agile Expertise - Deep understanding of testing frameworks within Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid SDLC environments.
* Cloud-Ready Tooling - Strong, hands-on experience using Azure DevOps for end-to-end test planning, execution, traceability, and defect management.
* Analytical Rigor - Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly under pressure, managing multiple releases and complex cloud-native architectures simultaneously.
* Proven Track Record - Extensive experience in software system testing, specifically within Federal Government projects or large-scale enterprise environments.
* Professional Standing - Relevant certifications in software testing (e.g., ISTQB Advanced) and Agile delivery.
* SFIA Level 5 Attributes - Demonstrated ability to work with high autonomy, influence senior stakeholders, and resolve complex technical challenges independently.
