As a Consulting Architect at Optus, you will play a pivotal role as a solution lead, combining inputs from Solution Designers and Solution Architects to create comprehensive solution overviews and Business Cases. You'll apply a commercial lens to technical solutions, ensuring they are commercially viable, deliverable, and supportable, while guiding account teams to maintain profitability.
This is a highly customer-facing role, requiring the Consulting Architect to build strong relationships with stakeholders across customer organisations, represent all Optus solutions with expertise, and work closely with Sales teams to support customer engagement.
You will act as the critical pivot between Sales/Pre-Sales and Delivery, Operations, and Commercial teams, representing customer technical requirements across the Optus business.
The day to day
* Analyse customer requirements and develop standardised solutions across multiple technology stacks.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technological trends, processes, methodologies, and competitor offerings in the Telco and ICT markets.
* Support the Sales Team in Pre-Sales activities, including demonstrations, presentations, and consultations.
* Develop and articulate Customer Value Propositions (CVP) and Return on Investment (ROI) aligned with the RAIN Sales methodology.
* Drive deeper technical conversations with customer SMEs to improve long-term sales success.
* Develop and maintain strong internal relationships across Sales, Products, Delivery, and the broader Optus community.
* Build strong partnerships with vendors and the broader industry community to develop and deliver innovative customer solutions.
* Collaborate with Sales in the development and execution of Account Plans.
About You
* Relevant degree in IT, engineering, or equivalent industry certifications.
* Broad ICT/Telecommunications systems design background with a detailed understanding of enterprise-wide system architecture and service management methodologies.
* Strong consulting and ICT selling skills with experience applying structured sales methodologies.
* Deep knowledge of Telco/ICT domains, with subject matter expertise across at least three of the following areas: CX, Mobility, IoT, SD-WAN, EX, Security, Core Telco.
* Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco, Microsoft, SaaS) and/or affiliations to professional bodies (e.g., IEEE, ACS, ATUG).
* Advanced technical documentation and thought leadership skills (white papers, blogs, technical posts as proof points).
* Must be an Australian citizen with eligibility to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) BASELINE Security Clearance.
