About the RFDS SA/NT
We are trusted leaders in providing aeromedical and primary health care services to people in remote, rural and regional locations across South Australia and the Northern Territory. Our five-year Strategic Plan is focused on growing as an innovative, responsive and better-connected health service provider for all Australians.
About This Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Mental Health Service Manager, you will be mentored to deliver a stepped mental health service that is evidence based and culturally safe in the context of remote First Nations communities across regional and remote Australia.
You will be mentored and supported to deliver a range of mental health services to clients who are not able to access appropriate services due to living in remote locations or being ineligible for existing services. Delivering evidence based psychological interventions, you will utilise a combination of telephone, telehealth, and face to face consulting methods to achieve positive outcomes for RFDS SA/NT clients.
You will be a vital resource to remote communities, ensuring to identify activities to further develop – and increase awareness of - mental health and emotional wellbeing services.
At the completion of your internship and completion of your post graduate qualification you will have dedicated primary mental health care nursing hours to contribute toward your credentialling application with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses.
