About the role:
The Senior Financial Accountant is a key contributor to theCity's financial leadership, responsible for delivering accurate,high quality financial reporting and guiding the development of theannual budget. This role oversees the preparation of statutoryfinancial statements, takes a lead role in audit coordination, andsafeguards the integrity of the City's accounting systems.
What you'll bring to the role:
The ideal candidate will align with the City's Values and beable to demonstrate the below competencies:
* Appropriate tertiary qualifications in accounting andideally membership of or progression towards a professionalbody.
* Substantial experience in a senior financial / managementaccountant position, preferably in Local Government.
* Highly developed knowledge of Accounting Standards andconcepts.
* Understanding of the Local Government Act and associatedFinancial Management Regulations.
* Significant experience with large ERP or financial systems,such as Technology One.
* Demonstrated experience or ability to work collaborativelywith all levels of management in development of budgets andvarious financial reporting tasks.
* Experience in staff supervision/guidance.
* Highly developed analytical and problem-solvingskills.
Pre-employment requirements:
* Current C Class Driver's Licence.
* National Police Clearance (less than six months old).
* Proof of right to work in Australia.
* Pre-employment medical (arranged and paid for by theCity).
