Apprentice Chef Job Opportunity
This role offers the chance to become a trade Qualified Chef by completing an apprenticeship in a diverse and exciting environment.
The position involves working in various kitchens across the site, including our Café Wild, Café Waterhole, Savannah function centre and Zoofari Lodge (accommodation) kitchens.
You will be supported through your apprenticeship by experienced chefs and have the opportunity to work with a passionate hospitality team.
The hours are family friendly, and you will receive complimentary friends and family passes all year round.
As a member of the team, you will be expected to work effectively and assist in achieving strategic outcomes.
Additionally, you will be required to comply with Taronga's Customer Service Charter and suggest initiatives for further improvement.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Undertake and learn all aspects of Commercial Cookery as part of the Chef Apprenticeship
* Undertake to complete appropriate TAFE training and learn all aspects of commercial cookery
* Ensure that all necessary TAFE assessments are completed
* Work effectively as a member of a high performing team
* Comply with Taronga's sustainability practices to help achieve its sustainability targets and reduce environmental impact
Requirements:
* Must be eligible to enroll in the relevant TAFE trade course
* Obtain and maintain a paid Working with Children Check at own expense
