Stakeholder Engagement & Regulatory Coordinator

- Salary: 97,955 to $111,142 (Plus superannuation)
- Fixed-Term position until 30 June 2026
- Usual hours of work: Full time

The Role

As a Stakeholder Engagement & Regulatory Coordinator, you will be supporting the engagement of key stakeholders, especially in relation to effective delivery of communication to landowners in the Gippsland region. Your time will be divided between two teams, Environment and Stakeholder Engagement with time allocations based on a documented work program with scheduled deliverables.

Your expertise in working for major projects has been developed in the carbon capture and storage sector. These skills are supported by strong communication and writing skills.

This role is for someone who enjoys providing a high-level customer service and enjoys stakeholder engagement within a fast pace and dynamic environment. You will have demonstrated project management skills and/or the ability to co-ordinate a range of activities to support project outcomes. To be successful in the role, you will need flexibility and adaptability to work across multi-disciplinary teams and develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders.

Key accountabilities include:

- Working closely with the project directors to assist with land-owner liaison and stakeholder engagement, this will include the maintenance of landowner registers and developing communications with landholders and key stakeholders.
- Assist broader stakeholder engagement and communication for the project including the production and distribution of printed, digital and display marketing materials including developing and publishing digital content, supporting the production of events, online forums and CarbonNet's monthly eNewsletter while working to established budget and timeframes.
- Assist with preparing letters, FAQs, briefs and presentations.
- Support the Environment and Regulatory Affairs and Storage teams, the Project Director and extended leadership team in the delivery of a range of projects and activities including administration, procurement, policy and research.
- Help maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders across the department, Victorian and Commonwealth agencies, regulators, industry, and the wider community.

The Team

The position of Stakeholder Engagement & Regulatory Coordinator will work within CarbonNet branch, which sits within Industry, Trade and Investment (ITI) group.

The Industry, Trade and Investment (ITI) Group works closely with businesses locally and globally to grow Victorian jobs, drive innovation and increase Victoria's international competitiveness. ITI champions Victoria as a destination of choice for trade and international investment, international education and innovation. ITI harnesses specialist knowledge of key industries and global markets to develop Victoria's priority sectors, boost trade activities, enhance productivity and contribute to economic growth.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience:

- Experience in engaging with landowners regarding land access for a major infrastructure project in the Gippsland region.
- Demonstrated experience in maintaining and updating information management systems (including Consultation Manager) and registers, with high level communication and writing skills.
- An understanding or experience with stakeholder engagement and communication activities in a government context. Experience in assisting with procurement and contract processes, including liaising with external advisors and consultants to deliver organisational or project outcomes.
- Experience with working across multi-disciplinary teams to develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders (including across government departments, Victorian and Commonwealth agencies, regulators, industry and the wider community.
- Organisational and project planning skills to support the permitting activities, including interpreting Commonwealth and Victorian legislation (e.g., Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage Act 2006 (Cth))
- The ability to operate independently within given guidelines and timeframes, manage competing priorities and support the workflow of the team.
