What You'll Be Doing
Financial Reporting & Taxation
* Reviewing and finalising financial statements, BAS, IAS, and income tax returns across all entity types.
* Managing complex tax matters including FBT, CGT, Division 7A, and ATO audits.
* Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and evolving tax legislation.
* Taking ownership of end-to-end compliance for your client portfolio.
Client & Advisory Work
* Acting as the primary point of contact for your clients and managing relationships with the ATO, ASIC, and financial institutions.
* Leading advisory conversations around tax planning, cash flow, and business performance.
* Supporting clients with budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making.
* Working closely with senior leadership on higher-level advisory, structuring, and growth strategies.
Leadership & Mentorship
* Reviewing work completed by intermediate and junior accountants.
* Mentoring and developing team members to improve technical skills and confidence.
* Supporting a culture of continuous learning through knowledge sharing and coaching.
* Helping bridge the gap between graduate development and senior leadership.
Workflow & Portfolio Management
* Managing your own client portfolio, ensuring deadlines and lodgements are met.
* Overseeing workflow across your team to ensure efficiency and quality.
* Managing WIP, identifying scope changes, and supporting value-based billing outcomes.
* Driving process improvements to enhance team productivity and client delivery.
Payroll & Compliance Oversight
* Overseeing payroll, STP, and superannuation compliance across client groups.
* Ensuring adherence to Fair Work regulations and award interpretations.
* Reviewing compliance processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

Who You Are
* 5+ years of public practice experience (Australian firms preferred)
* CA/CPA qualified or equivalent
* Strong technical knowledge across tax, compliance, and financial reporting
* Confident reviewing work and mentoring team members
* Strong communication skills with the ability to manage client relationships
* Commercial mindset with an interest in advisory and value‐based services
* Enjoy working with diverse businesses—from tradies to tech startups
