The IT Project Manager will lead the governance, planning, and delivery of IT initiatives across infrastructure, core applications, and related projects, ensuring successful outcomes and alignment with governance frameworks. This full-time role is based in Newcastle West in a newly refurbished office with an onsite café and collaborative work environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage the governance, planning, delivery and quality assurance of IT deliverables within Technology Services projects.
- Lead all elements of the delivery lifecycle: requirements gathering, service design, vendor management, stakeholder management, risk management, procurement and financial management, change management, resource and task management, reporting and project governance.
- Initiate, plan, design, execute and deliver a wide array of IT projects, working with internal and external subject matter experts to deliver benefits to the Business.
- Ensure projects and programs are delivered in accordance with best practices and the governance policies of the Diocese of Maitland—Newcastle.
- Travel within the Hunter-Manning area as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years’ recent project or product management experience in a large enterprise.
- Experience in delivering IT infrastructure and networking solutions.
- Experience using program or project management tools and systems.
- Excellent analytical, conceptual, strategic planning, and execution skills.
- Familiarity with financial analysis and related reporting tools.
- Excellent people management and stakeholder management skills, including interaction with executive managers.
- Strong business acumen and knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and innovation in enterprise environments.
- Experience in religious, not-for-profit, social services, child care, and/or education settings is desirable but not essential.
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or equivalent experience; eligible for relevant certifications.
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence; Working with Children Check (WWCC) where required.
- Desirable: Project Management Certification (PMP, CAPM, Prince2) or Agile; Change Management Certification (Prosci, CCMP); IT Service Management certification (ITIL v4).
Location & Travel
Based in Newcastle West, with extensive travel within the Hunter-Manning area.
