Legal Expert - Technology and Innovation

This is a newly created position that will report to the General Counsel. As DroneShield continues to expand rapidly, this role is critical in ensuring that our legal frameworks keep pace with our growth.


Key Responsibilities:

* Draft and review a variety of contracts, including technology, engineering, manufacturing, and procurement agreements.
* Assist in legal matters related to intellectual property, export controls, and employment law, collaborating with the General Counsel and outside legal counsel as needed.
* Engage with regulators such as the ACMA, ASIC, ASX, and DEC.
* Support in the development and maintenance of corporate policies.
* Conduct legal due diligence for potential mergers and acquisitions.


Requirements:

* Law degree from an accredited Australian or European university.
* Admission to practice in Australia.
* 2 to 4 years of law firm experience, preferably with exposure to technology, engineering, or manufacturing sectors.
* Interest in intellectual property (IP), export controls, and employment law, with a global perspective.
* Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
