Peer Support Worker
This role offers the opportunity to provide meaningful connection and support to individuals experiencing distress or suicidal thoughts. As a peer worker, you will use your lived experience to offer empathy, hope, and understanding.
About the Role:
You will work closely with participants to identify their strengths and promote wellbeing through shared experience. Your non-judgmental approach and strong communication skills will enable you to build rapport and hold meaningful conversations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Responding to initial calls and conducting scheduled support sessions.
* Providing emotional support and genuine connection to individuals in need.
* Supporting participants in developing personalized coping strategies and safety plans.
Requirements:
* Current Driver's Licence and ability to travel if required.
* NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate – Free online course.
* National Police Records Check.
* NDIS Worker Screening Check.
* Working with Children Check (Blue Card in QLD).
* Desirable – Certificate IV in Mental Health, Mental Health Peer Work, or equivalent experience in community or mental health services.
