Overview
The Role: We are seeking a highly experienced and passionate Project Manager - Commercial & Remedial to join our rapidly expanding business. With a focus on delivering high quality services to the construction sector throughout Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing large remedial projects, ensuring all projects are delivered on time within budget, always exceeding expectations from a quality management perspective. We are interested in speaking individuals that have experience in a similar role within the commercial / domestic building industry, or prior experience in a project management role in a large-scale construction environment. The successful applicant will be one who is able to manage a large workload, handle high-pressure situations as well as having strong decision making and negotiation skills.
Responsibilities
* Follow and complete all relevant tasks in project delivery
* Manage project budget allocation for assigned projects
* Monitor progress of projects to ensure that milestones and performance indicators are met
* Negotiate any changes of scope via variation submission to the client and obtain client approval prior to the commencement of works during the life of the project
* Monitor sub-contractors to ensure guidelines are met/maintained
* Ensure client expectations are met in terms of quality
* Plan and schedule project timelines
* Maintain project cost plans
* Ensure work sites are compliant with OH&S Regulations
* Management of all site work, including subcontractors, client requirements and all labour relevant to site
* Maintain up to date cost plan throughout length of the project
* Responsible for finding further cost savings throughout the life of the project
* Liaise with manufacturing contractors and ensure issues are raised, clarified and resolved between all parties (client, manufacturing, centre or landlord) swiftly and in the best interests of the Group
* Time, quality and cost restrictions to be adhered to and completion of defects in a timely manner
Key Selection Criteria
* Proven experience dealing with large scale construction projects in the Australian construction industry
* Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes and project management principles
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to interpret and apply complex contractual terms and conditions
* Proficient in contract administration, risk management and project documentation
* Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Law or Engineering is highly desirable
* Intermediate-Advanced Microsoft skills
* Current drivers licence
