Where you'll be working:
Hunter Valley Lower Mid North Coast Mental Health Service is a key part of the district’s Mental Health Network, delivering high-quality care to people experiencing severe and complex mental health challenges. The service supports people living with mood disorders, psychosis, eating disorders, personality disorders and the effects of significant life events, always through a recovery-oriented and person-centred approach.

Our integrated model includes community-based mental health teams, a 24-bed acute psychiatric unit at Maitland Hospital and a 20-bed acute psychiatric unit at Manning Base Hospital. This allows people to receive seamless care from home-based treatment through to inpatient support and post-discharge follow-up. We work across Maitland, Dungog, Cessnock, Singleton, Muswellbrook, Upper Hunter, Taree, Forster, Gloucester, Bulahdelah and surrounding Lower Mid North Coast communities.

About the role:
You will bring sound experience in mental health practice, with an understanding of intake and early intervention, shared care models, and consumer- and family/carer-focused approaches. You will apply trauma-informed care principles in your work, build and maintain positive therapeutic and professional relationships, and communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary environment to achieve the best possible outcomes for consumers and their families/carers.

The Hunter Valley Lower Mid North Coast Mental Health service offers ongoing Inservice, supervision and in person and eLearning training opportunities to grow your knowledge of healthcare. You will be supported by Senior Clinician, Clinical Coordinators, Team manager and Service Manager.

About you:
You will be a motivated and enthusiastic mental health professional who contributes strong clinical knowledge as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will be directly supported by senior leaders, including the HVLMNC MHS Service Manager, and work closely with the broader HVLMNC Mental Health team to deliver high-quality, contemporary care.

Requirements:
* Must hold a qualification in one of the following: Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Nursing, Social Work, which provides eligibility or membership of the relevant professional association / provisional or general registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
* Eligibility to drive in NSW and interstate and the willingness to travel in the course of employment.

* This position is full time; however, part time/job share arrangements may also be considered.
