Job Overview
As an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Counsellor, you will provide short-term interventions for our clients' staff accessing their EAP. Your responsibilities will include identifying presenting problems, gaining agreement with the client's staff about treatment goals, and providing an appropriate evidence-based intervention.
You will apply appropriate management of risk when required and refer to appropriate services. Compliance with all Workplace Health and Safety procedures is essential to ensure team members, including volunteers and contractors, abide by relevant health and safety procedures.
Acting as a role model, you will demonstrate safe work behaviors and report all accidents, incidents, or near misses immediately.
Ideal candidates will possess a Psychologist with current General Registration status with AHPRA or a Social Worker with current full membership with the AASW. Skilled in short-term evidence-based interventions for psychosocial issues presenting within an EAP context, you will also hold or be willing to obtain:
* Current Professional Indemnity Insurance
* Current Public Liability Insurance (for a minimum of $20 million)
* A new National Police Check clearance
Social Workers will hold or be willing to obtain a Blue Card. Commitment to child safety and well-being, understanding of children's developmental needs, and culturally safe practices are essential.
