Orchard Productivity Specialist
We are seeking a driven and solutions-oriented professional to join our team in Bundaberg on a full-time permanent basis. In this role, you will help shape the future of orchard productivity by monitoring operations, analysing field data, and identifying innovations to improve performance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Monitor various orchard operations, including the use of platforms, and identify areas for operational improvement.
* Analyse, interpret and review field data methods to maintain and enhance productivity and efficiency.
* Supply technical advice regarding crop production and agronomic practices.
* Apply a strong theoretical knowledge of crop environmental response to optimise productivity.
* Audit farm practices and records to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
* Deliver training sessions for staff and supervisors on agronomic techniques and best practices.
* Collect, analyse data and samples of produce, soil, pests and disease.
* Advise managers on strategies to improve crop production.
* Identify issues related to crop disease or pests, and weeds.
* Conduct and review environmental factors impacting crop production or pasture growth.
* Identify agricultural problems and research innovative solutions and techniques.
* Research new technology and advancements in the agricultural sector.
* Support the implementation of safety programs and contribute to a strong safety culture.
* Ensure all activities comply with relevant legislation and policies related to WHS, HR, environment, and quality standards.
Requirements:
* Tertiary qualifications in Agricultural Science or Agricultural Engineering, or other tertiary qualifications or degrees in associated disciplines.
* Some practical work experience.
* Strong computer skills, with an ability to analyse, collate and generate cogent, concise reports.
* Current manual driver's licence.
