The Bridge operates Social Enterprise from a Warehouse in Dandenong that has a diverse workforce with multiple micro businesses operating, that focus on developing skills for people with a disability, in both the areas of cleaning and garden and property maintenance.
About You:
We seek someone who will thrive in a social and collaborative environment. The successful candidate will enjoy assisting others to increase their skills and strive to reach their goals. This role will enable you to work within a social enterprise whilst supporting supported employes.
About the Role:
The position provides on-the-job training to Supported Employees to assist them to best achieve their employment goals. This particular role will work with a team of Supported Employees in cleaning, mowing, gardening and property maintenance operations at multiple The Bridge Inc. locations and for external clients.
Requirements for the Role
* Current and valid full Australian Driver’s License. Experience driving an 8-seater bus is desirable.
* Experience appropriately loading and towing up to a dual axle trailer with brakes and smaller single axle trailers without brakes.
* Ability to establish an effective working relationship with supported employees to identify and build on each person’s strengths.
* Adaptable to changing circumstances and able to prioritise work, managing your time effectively to achieve set goals and outcomes.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to cater your communication style to individual needs and circumstances.
* Ability to perform manual tasks of a repetitive nature and work duties involving lifting and standing for long periods of time.
