Role
The Associate Director, Climate Change and Environment supports the growth of Tetra Tech International Development's climate portfolio across Australia and the Indo‐Pacific through business development, technical advisory and practice support. Working closely with the Director, the role contributes to the design and delivery of integrated, climate‐resilient solutions while embedding GEDSI, localisation and First Nations engagement across programs.
Key responsibilities
* Lead and support business development for climate change and environment opportunities, including proposals, positioning and client engagement
* Design and shape integrated climate resilience solutions across sectors such as sustainable infrastructure, agriculture, livelihoods, disaster preparedness and natural resource management
* Provide senior technical leadership across investment design, implementation, technical assistance and evaluation
* Build and maintain strong relationships with DFAT, regional partners, donors and industry stakeholders
* Contribute to the delivery and oversight of complex programs, ensuring quality, compliance and commercial rigour
* Support practice growth through people leadership, collaboration, and thought leadership activities
Selection criteria
* Postgraduate qualification or equivalent senior‐level expertise in international development, climate change, environmental management, disaster management, engineering, agriculture or a related field
* Typically 10+ years' experience in climate change and environment programming within an international development context
* Demonstrated experience in business development, proposal leadership and client engagement
* Strong understanding of DFAT climate priorities, to further climate resilience, adaptation, disaster risk reduction and climate‐inclusive development
* Proven ability to design and deliver integrated climate solutions across multiple sectors
* Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement and communication
