About the Role
As an After Hours Support Worker, you will ensure the safety and well-being of young people during nighttime hours. This dynamic role requires you to be on-call, responding to critical incidents and providing immediate assistance.
Your responsibilities include delivering phone support to youth workers across residential care homes, guiding them through challenges, and offering practical advice.
You will also drive to various care homes to provide in-person support, assess situations, and assist during after-hours incidents.
The goal is to create a secure, supportive environment where young people feel safe and empowered outside regular hours.
Key Selection Criteria
* Minimum qualification: Diploma of Youth Work, Community Services, or equivalent.
* Experience and willingness to participate in training for Aboriginal staff; qualification is desirable.
* Skills and experience in youth services, residential care, or supported accommodation.
* Knowledge of Aboriginal culture and understanding of issues faced by Aboriginal children and families.
* Experience working therapeutically with children and young people with significant challenges and trauma.
