Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Quantity Surveyor – Claims Specialist role based in the Greater Adelaide Area. The ADL Team would be open to facilitating relocation for the right candidate from the UK or Ireland. The role involves preparing, evaluating, and negotiating claims and variations, including delay and quantum aspects, in collaboration with project teams and external stakeholders. The specialist will review contracts and subcontracts, assess commercial and contractual risks and entitlement, and support the preparation of contractual correspondence, position papers, and expert reports. Daily tasks include cost planning and cost reporting, analysis of BOQs, and cost control activities to support commercial management and dispute resolution processes. The role also involves contributing to contract health checks, assisting with adjudications and other formal processes, and providing clear, evidence-based advice to clients.
Qualifications
1. Strong cost management capabilities, including Cost Management and Cost Planning skills.
2. Proficiency in cost governance and analysis, including Cost Control and Cost Reporting skills.
3. Experience in quantity take-off and pricing, including BOQ preparation, review, and verification skills.
4. Solid understanding of construction contracts, claims, and variations, ideally with exposure to dispute resolution, delay and quantum matters.
5. Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
6. Experience working on construction or infrastructure projects, preferably in a commercial or claims-focused role.
7. Strong analytical, numerical, and report-writing skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
8. Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate clearly with clients and stakeholders.
9. Familiarity with relevant Australian construction standards, legislation, and dispute resolution processes is an advantage.
10. Professional certifications or progress toward RICS, AIQS, or similar professional membership are desirable.
