Social-first agency WE THE PEOPLE is looking for an enthusiastic Social Account Director - Entertainment to join our growing team in Melbourne or Sydney, as a maternity leave cover (6-12 months).

About the Role

As a Social Account Director - Entertainment, you'll be leading client relationships across a key client partner in the entertainment category.

The Account Director is a senior leadership role within the client service team, responsible for leading key client relationships, delivering exceptional campaign results, and driving strategic, creative and commercial success across your portfolio.

You'll act as a true business partner to your clients, shaping strategies, guiding creative development, and mentoring your team to deliver best-in-class social thinking. As a natural collaborator, you'll work closely with the Client Service Director to grow client accounts, lead cross-functional teams, and foster a culture of clarity, creativity and commercial excellence. This is a role for someone who thinks long-term, delivers in the short-term, and knows how to navigate the complexities of modern marketing with confidence, creativity and calm.

You'll be working in the entertainment space, so a love for television & film, along with a deep understanding and experience in social media, is essential.

In this role, you'll be…

Client Leadership & Strategy:

* Be the lead point of contact and trusted advisor for senior client stakeholders.
* Translate business objectives into clear, strategic social media plans that deliver results
* Guide the development of annual plans, content strategies and integrated campaigns
* Provide ongoing strategic counsel to clients across content, platform, performance and brand
* Confidently lead key meetings, presentations and reviews
* Maintain strong relationships, manage expectations, and ensure that clients are satisfied with campaigns and outcomes.

Creative & Campaign Oversight:

* Oversee the delivery of all creative work in your 'pod', from briefing to execution, ensuring alignment with strategy and client vision
* Provide constructive feedback to your team, creative teams, and support teams in elevating the quality of work
* Ensure consistency, clarity and excellence across all touchpoints
* Mentor and support Senior Account Managers, Account Managers and Account Executives, empowering them to grow and lead
* Lead by example, demonstrating a collaborative, solution-focused and growth-oriented mindset
* Manage KPIs for your direct reports, set in collaboration with the Client Service Director
* Own the financial health of your 'pods' accounts, creating estimates, monitoring budgets, and forecasting revenue.
* Work with the Client Service Director on forecasting, team allocations and budget management.
* Running monthly job cost reports for the Client Service Director and reconciliation as required.
* Identify opportunities for account growth and scope extensions.

Growth:

* Stay ahead of trends in social, digital and culture to inform innovation across the agency.

Performance & Reporting:

* Set clear KPIs for work and ensure reporting is insightful and actionable with support from the team
* Work with Strategy and Performance teams to deliver impactful reports and recommendations
* Use data to inform optimisations and future planning of content.

You'll be bringing to the table...

* 7+ years of account management/client services experience in an agency or marketing field, ideally with experience in the entertainment industry.
* The ability to manage multiple projects on the fly at once.
* Proven experience managing high-profile accounts and leading multi-disciplinary teams
* Strong communication skills to confidently share ideas and present work to other team members and clients.
* Strong organisational skills to ensure tasks are completed on tight deadlines.
* A proactive approach to work and delivering great results for clients.
* An enthusiastic attitude to creative and strategic challenges.
* Strong understanding of social media platforms, content ecosystems and paid/organic strategies
* Prior experience in an agency environment.

This is a full-time contract role based in Melbourne OR Sydney. This is a maternity leave cover contract planned to span 6 - 12 months.
