About the role
Due to an increase in workload, Smallmon Brothers Waste is seeking an experienced Frontlift Waste Collection Truck Driver to join our team in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales. This is a full-time role responsible for the safe and efficient collection and transportation of waste and recyclables within the local community. As a key member of our operations, you will play a vital part in ensuring our customers receive a reliable and environmentally conscious waste management service.
What you'll be doing
1. Operate a heavy rigid waste collection truck to safely collect and transport waste and recyclables from residential and commercial properties
2. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is roadworthy and properly maintained
3. Follow all relevant road rules and safety procedures to protect yourself, your vehicle, and the public
4. Provide exceptional customer service by responding courteously to any inquiries or concerns from customers
5. Maintain accurate records of collection routes, volumes, and any incidents
6. Support the broader waste management team as needed
What we're looking for
1. A current Heavy Rigid (HR) driver's licence and several years' experience operating large commercial vehicles
2. A strong understanding of safe driving practices and the ability to navigate urban and rural roads
3. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work as part of a team
4. A commitment to working safely and following all relevant rules and regulations
5. Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual handling tasks
6. Knowledge of the waste management industry and environmental best practices
