About the Role
We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our quantum sensing team, working on next-generation inertial quantum sensors. You will use your traditional software development skills to architect, design and test new sensing technologies.
This role involves working closely with our team of engineers and physicists to develop software solutions to unique quantum sensing and control problems. You will be responsible for implementing physics-based control strategies that optimize sensor robustness and performance.
You will support continuous miniaturization and improvement of the technology for deployment in mobile applications. This is an exciting opportunity to work with experts in cold-atom interferometry, magnetometry, and inertial navigation to develop state-of-the-art technology.
Key Responsibilities
* Architect and develop software solutions to unique quantum sensing and control problems
* Work with hardware engineers to bring-up and improve hardware designs by providing software expertise
* Support quantum sensing field trials with key industry partners
* Own continuous integration and testing of firmware, including hardware-in-the-loop test fixtures
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should have proficiency writing firmware for embedded real-time control systems using a systems programming language such as C, C++, or Rust. Experience working in an R&D environment, collaborating with established engineering teams and research scientists, is also essential.
Prior experience deploying systems in aircraft/defense applications is highly desirable.
