Role Description
Job Summary
* Degree in civil engineering
* Previous experience in assessing development applications in a council environment
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively resolve conflict and negotiate neutrally beneficial outcomes
* Demonstrated commitment to customer service and ability to work within a team
* Demonstrated advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
* Ability to work in a fast‐paced team with a high workload
* Advanced skills in corporate databases including Technology 1, CM9 and GIS
* Excellent time management and organisation skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
* Experience using the NSW Government Planning Portal
Key accountabilities
Position specific
* Provide administration support to the Drainage Development Assessment team
* Assessment of development application referrals in drainage and flooding to successfully meet KPIs
* Liaise with internal and external customers with regards to development applications
* Monitor and record all incoming development application referrals
* Complete the assigned Technology 1 and CM9 tasks within required timeframes to a high level of accuracy
* Action all enquires, correspondence and documentation appropriately within timeframes and service level frameworks
* Maintain record management in accordance with Council's Record Management procedures
* Administrative tasks are completed within required timeframes with a high level of accuracy
* Perform assigned duties with little supervision
* Contribute to Council's engineering specification and processes relating to development assessment
