About this role

With your skills and experience, you will play a vital role in strengthening the financial integrity and stewardship of one of Australia's largest and most complex health systems. As a Finance Analyst, Financial Compliance, you'll contribute to the effective delivery of NSW Health's financial compliance program by supporting risk monitoring, undertaking compliance reviews, and helping ensure financial controls operate as intended across the system. You will work closely with the Principal Finance Analyst to support audit readiness, assist with remediation activities, and provide high quality financial analysis that informs decision making at senior levels. Your work will help improve data quality, enhance internal controls, and uplift financial governance practices across a diverse network of health entities. You'll collaborate with stakeholders across Local Health Districts, pillars and Ministry teams, building strong relationships and guiding them in meeting compliance expectations. Crown Clerk 7/8, starting salary from 113,574 to 125,720 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week.

What you'll be doing

* Support the delivery of NSW Health's financial compliance program by contributing to monthly monitoring, data quality checks, risk analysis and KPI reporting.
* Conduct financial compliance reviews, identify emerging risks and control weaknesses, and provide recommendations to strengthen governance and data integrity.
* Assist in the financial compliance audit lifecycle, including pre-audit readiness, audit support and post-audit remediation activities.
* Assist in developing, reviewing and updating financial procedures, templates and documents to strengthen compliance and improve clarity for stakeholders.
* Work with Local Health Districts, pillars and Ministry teams to clarify compliance expectations, build capability, and improve the accuracy and consistency of financial controls and reporting.

About you

We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:

* Tertiary qualifications in finance, accounting, commerce or a related discipline, or equivalent experience working in a complex financial environment.
* Experience in financial compliance, financial controls, risk or assurance within a large or decentralised organisation.
* Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret large datasets, identify anomalies, and provide clear, evidence based recommendations.
* Sound knowledge of relevant public sector financial frameworks, including legislation, accounting standards and NSW Health/Treasury policy requirements.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders to clarify compliance expectations, support audit activities and improve financial governance.
