HSEQ Lead/Safety Leader – Hands-on. Influential.
Permacast is looking for a HSEQ Lead.
We want someone who can coach, challenge, and hold the line. That is someone who can work with people on the floor, explain the why, help with the how, and lift standards through influence, trust, and presence. Someone prepared to step in, call out risk, and act when the standard is not being met. In manufacturing, risk can become normal if nobody challenges it. We need someone who sees that, tackles it, and brings people on the journey.
About the role
This is a leadership role in a real industrial environment. Heavy product, moving equipment, repetitive tasks, and shortcuts that can creep in if no one is paying attention. Your job is not just to maintain the system and to help shape the culture.
You will be visible in the business, build trust with the workforce, support leaders to lead safely, and make sure standards are understood and upheld.
What you’ll be doing
This is a strategic leadership position — build the plan, drive it hard, and make sure it shows up in the way the business works
* Shape HSE performance across the business
* Coach teams and supervisors on safe work practices and risk awareness
* Challenge behaviours where risk has become normalised
* Drive a practical safety culture built on ownership and accountability
* Support investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement
* Ensure systems and procedures are practical and actually used
About you
You are practical, grounded, and credible. And can build rapport, influence behaviour, and know when to coach, when to challenge, and when to hold the line.
You will likely bring:
* Strong HSE experience in manufacturing, industrial, construction, precast or heavy industry
* The ability to influence behaviour, not just enforce rules
* Strong communication across all levels
* Confidence to have the hard conversations
* A hands-on style, visible presence, and real ownership
