WA Country Health Service – Albany Hospital is seeking General Medicine Service Registrars to join their team in a coastal location in Western Australia.
This is a recruitment pool to fill Full Time Fixed term appointments for 6 and 12 months with possibility of extension(s). There is 1 fixed term, full time position for 6 months commencing 18 August 2025 and several positions for 6- or 12-month appointments commencing in 2026, with appointments from this pool made until 02/02/2026.

Position profile
The successful candidates will be responsible for the clinical care of general medicine patients at Albany Health Campus under supervision of experienced Physician consultants. The Service Registrar role delivers high-quality, patient-centred care within well-supported, physician-led general medicine training teams. The role is accredited for General Practice, ACRRM, Intensive Care and RACP Basic and Advanced trainees seeking broad exposure to a range of acute undifferentiated presentations and longitudinal care.
Responsibilities include managing inpatients, Hospital in the Home, hospital avoidance and general medicine outpatient clinics. Registrars will manage a team of junior medical staff and work as part of a multidisciplinary team with a focus on teaching and opportunities for research and quality improvement activities, with allocated non-clinical time. Participation in the acute undifferentiated on-call roster with after-hours responsibilities approximately weekly.
Eligibility
To be considered for these positions applicants must hold unrestricted general registration with the Medical Board of Australia and have at least two years of clinical experience in Australia or a Competent Authority country.

Albany Health Campus is a modern 130-bed hospital and a regional resource centre for the Great Southern Region. The hospital hosts an expanding general medicine department with an integrated HomeSafe program to bridge acute care and community care, and serves as a secondary referral hospital for the region with over 30,000 acute ED presentations annually. Albany Health Campus offers multiple general medicine teams and related services, including medical oncology and radiation oncology, geriatrics, palliative care, and a high dependency unit managed by rotating specialists. The campus is active in service innovation, hospital avoidance strategies, and regional training for rural generalists.
Salary and benefits
Registrar Year 1-7: $147,236 to $196,540 p.a. (inclusive of base salary, 12% superannuation and professional development allowance).
Breakdown: base salary $120,492–$164,513 p.a., professional development allowance $10,969 p.a., 12% employer contributed superannuation.
