About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Assistant House Supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with the House Supervisor to ensure the smooth operation of our therapeutic care home, providing high-intensity, one-on-one support to a young person with complex needs and significant trauma history.
In this critical role, you will be responsible for assisting in coordinating shifts, providing on-the-ground support to staff, and stepping into leadership when needed. You will also contribute to maintaining a strong therapeutic focus, managing rosters, routines, and household requirements.
Key aspects of the job include:
* Providing hands-on support to the House Supervisor in daily operations
* Supporting and guiding Youth Workers in delivering trauma-informed care
* Helping manage rosters, routines, and household requirements
* Responding to incidents and high-risk situations calmly and professionally
* Contributing to a safe and structured environment where a young person can heal and grow
Your Impact

The ideal candidate will possess excellent teamwork and communication skills, as well as a strong commitment to trauma-informed practice and a knowledge of therapeutic frameworks such as TCI, Sanctuary, or neurodevelopmental models.
Additionally, you should have experience working with children or young people with complex needs, a minimum Cert IV in Youth Work, Community Services, or a related field (or willingness to obtain), and a genuine understanding of Aboriginal culture and values.
