About the Role
The Café Supervisor / Assistant Manager supports the Manager in the daily operation of the café, ensuring high standards of service, product quality, and customer experience. The role oversees staff during shifts, coordinates workflow, assists with training and onboarding, and handles customer enquiries or issues. It includes responsibility for opening and closing procedures, cash handling, stock control, and maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient workspace. The position helps drive a positive team culture, supports operational goals, and steps into the Manager's duties when required.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise daily café operations to ensure smooth and efficient service.
* Lead, support, and coach team members during shifts.
* Handle customer enquiries, feedback, and service issues professionally.
* Oversee cash handling, POS accuracy, and opening/closing procedures.
* Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and inventory control.
* Maintain food safety, cleanliness, and workplace health standards.
* Ensure product quality, presentation, and consistency.
* Step in for the Café Manager when required, supporting operational goals.
