About the roleÂ
Start your journey with the JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa as aâ¯Commisâ¯Chefâ¯to help our passionate kitchen team to create mouth-watering food for our guests. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, you will form a key part of a team who are responsible for providing high quality product to our luxury guests.â¯We are currently recruiting for an experienced and dedicated Commis Chef to join our fast paced and dynamic Kitchen operation.Â
Critical responsibilities:Â
* Communicate any assistance needed during busy periods to the Chef to ensure optimum servicesÂ
* Check and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and foodÂ
* Ensure proper portion, arrangement, and food garnish to be servedÂ
* Monitor the quantity of food that is prepared and the portions that are servedÂ
* Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storingÂ
* Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetablesÂ
* Wash and disinfect kitchen area including tables, tools, knives, and equipmentÂ
* Prepare and cook food.Â
* Set-up, clean and break down work stationÂ

Successful Candidates will have:Â
* Previous experience in a similar environment will be viewed favorablyÂ
* Strong food safety knowledgeÂ
* Great communication skillsâ¯Â
* Ability to work in a team and autonomouslyâ¯Â
