The opportunity
Reporting to the Process Manager, the role oversees the safe, efficient, and reliable day‐to‐day operation of the Mid-Stream Demonstration Plant (MSDP). The role directly manages production, metallurgy, maintenance (mechanical and electrical), warehouse, and logistics functions on shift. The role translates operational plans into disciplined daily execution, ensuring production targets, product quality, equipment availability, and HSE standards are consistently met.
This is a 12‐month maximum term role operating on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth or DIDO in the Pilbara region.
Key responsibilities
* Lead safe, efficient, and reliable day‐to‐day operations of the Mid‐Stream Demonstration Plant, maintaining stable throughput, process performance, and product quality.
* Supervise multidisciplinary teams across production, metallurgy, maintenance, warehouse, and logistics, coordinating execution of daily priorities and operational plans.
* Monitor plant performance and process control systems, respond to plant upsets, and drive shift‐level optimisation to improve yield, equipment availability, and operational efficiency.
* Coordinate maintenance execution, work‐order priorities, and reliability activities to support asset integrity, minimise downtime, and align with production requirements.
* Provide visible safety leadership, ensuring compliance with HSE requirements, permit‐to‐work, isolation, and risk‐management processes across all site activities.
* Deputise for the Process Manager as required, maintaining operational continuity, supporting reporting and decision‐making, and leading shift teams to achieve production and cost targets.
About you
* Tertiary qualifications in Chemical, Metallurgical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline, with significant experience in processing, refining, or mining operations.
* Proven leadership experience in superintendent or similar operational roles, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams across production, maintenance, and metallurgy.
* Strong technical knowledge of pyrometallurgical and/or hydrometallurgical processes, capable of managing plant performance and resolving complex operational issues under pressure.
* A hands‐on commitment to safety and compliance, with practical experience in permit‐to‐work, isolation, management of change, and oversight of high‐risk activities.
* Excellent communication and people‐leadership skills, with experience supporting team development, continuous improvement, and operational readiness or commissioning activities.
