Downer is seeking a CAD and DBoR Officer to support the delivery of 4G and 5G mobile network upgrades across major carrier programs. This role sits within our Technology and Communications Services business and plays a key role in ensuring accurate compliant and right first time design outcomes.
Reporting directly to the National Design Manager Wireless you will manage CAD and Design Basis of Record activities across new and existing mobile sites. You will coordinate internal SAED and construction teams while overseeing external drafting partners to ensure timely client approved submissions.
This role can be based in Melbourne VIC or Milton QLD with a mix of office and flexible working depending on project requirements.
What we are looking for
You are a detail focused CAD professional with experience in wireless or telecommunications environments who can manage multiple design streams and work confidently with a wide range of stakeholders.
* Strong AutoCAD capability
* Diploma or higher qualification in drafting engineering or a related discipline
* Experience producing and managing CAD and DBoR design packs
* Understanding of mobile site design and SAED processes
* Ability to coordinate external drafting partners
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Desirable experience
* Exposure to Telstra or NBN CAD standards
* Telco structural drafting experience
* Experience developing client CAD templates and standards
* Knowledge of wireless network design and acceptance processes
What you will be doing
* Deliver CAD and DBoR activities for 4G and 5G wireless sites
* Manage external drafting partners to meet quality cost and time expectations
* Maintain CAD standards templates file structures and QA processes
* Support SAED and construction teams with design related issues
* Chair design and quality meetings as required
* Ensure client approval of detailed design and as built submissions
* Provide accurate reporting across Downer and client systems
* Promote Zero Harm and support SQE expectations
