**The Organisation**
The Hospital is the major paediatric and neonatal referral service, as well as the major university teaching hospital for the state of Tasmania. There is an active registrar training program including written and clinical exam preparation, research project support, and education in the advanced training stream. Research is actively encouraged and supported through links with the University of Tasmania and the Menzies Research Institute.
The Department of Paediatrics is managed by a team of staff and VMO specialists in neonatology, neonatal and paediatric emergency transport, paediatric intensive care, oncology, neurology, rehabilitation medicine, developmental paediatrics, community paediatrics, paediatric surgery, child psychiatry, endocrinology, emergency medicine and general paediatrics.
**The Job**
- The Paediatric Registrar is responsible for the day-to-day management of private and public inpatients and outpatients and provides after-hours emergency cover
- You will be responsible for the admission and care of patients and liaison with specialist medical staff regarding patients
- As the Paediatric Registrar, you will attend specialist ward rounds and record all decisions made in the medical history
- You will engage in accurate, comprehensive, and contemporaneous recording in the medical record, including progress notes, each day
- You will supervise residents, interns and medical students

**Requirements**:
- Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) with minimum Level 2 supervision requirements, OR eligibility for registration via the Competent Authority Pathway
