**Our Opportunity**
An exciting opportunity has been created in the role of **National Operations Manager - Milk Supply**. This position reports to the National Milk Supply manager, leading and supporting the day to day milk supply operations including overseeing the following functions of Inbound Milk Logistics, Milk Planning and Milk Trading.
A key aspect of the role will be to lead cross functional communication between Milk Supply and the Strategic Business Units (SBUs). In particular a strong focus on balancing the daily milk and ingredient supply with the demands of the individual industrial sites and ensuring strong communication with the supply chain leaders in each SBU.
**Key responsibilities**:
The National Operations Manager Milk Supply will be directly responsible in overseeing:
- Inbound Milk Logistics
- collection of milk from 430+ farms nationally
- Management of annual budget of $65 million in Milk Collection and an additional $25 million for interstate milk and ingredient transport
- Responsible for scheduling of milk between farms and factories
- Milk Supply Planning
- Forecasting available milk supply and matching to expected factory demand
- Identifying imbalance both shortfall and surplus and setting a plan for the week, month year
- Communicating updates of most recent plan to relevant parts of the business
- Attending the SBU S&OP meetings to provide the milk position
- Milk Trading
- Maintain relations with industry processors and brokers
- Negotiate rates for purchase and sale of milk and ingredients when required
- Arrange milk swaps where possible to minimise freight costs
- Work with other processors to manage Milk events - factory shut downs, weather interruptions/ impacts on collection
**Experience**:
- National leadership experience in inbound logistics
- Exceptional hands-on track record of driving Operational improvements and efficiencies
- Influencing - work across a range of stakeholders internally and externally to lead and persuade to help deliver plans
- Project Management experience
- Experience with Commercial contracts
