Mechanical Service Technician
Based in Truganina, Melbourne, this hands‐on role supports a state‐of‐the‐art, fully automated meat processing and distribution facility operating in a temperature‐controlled environment. You will be part of an established, high‐performing service team, working with advanced automation and robotics on a 12‐hour rotating roster (4 on / 4 off) that offers excellent work‐life balance.
Your Impact
* Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on a wide range of automated mechanical systems
* Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to ensure minimal downtime and reliable operations
* Maintain and service equipment including conveyors, AS/RS cranes, robots, sortation systems, vertical lifts, MDRs, gear drives, and servo systems
* Accurately complete maintenance work orders and documentation using the CMMS
* Act as the primary on‐site technical contact, providing professional, customer‐focused service
* Collaborate closely with site operations to support continuous workflow and performance targets
* Support system upgrades, improvements, and commissioning activities while maintaining safety and hygiene standards
What makes you a great fit
* Trade qualification or Diploma with relevant experience as a Mechanical or Service Technician
* Proven experience maintaining automated and electro‐mechanical systems
* Strong mechanical aptitude, including pneumatics, hydraulics, and drive systems
* Basic electrical fault‐finding and PLC interface knowledge (preferred)
* Comfortable working in a cold‐storage environment (0°C), with PPE provided
