Front End Cashier Assistant Role
* Part-time position at Costco Ringwood
* Rotating roster with weekend work and varied shifts from 7am to 10PM
* 24 hours plus part-time commitment
Daily Responsibilities
1. Greet customers, assist with loading orders onto the conveyor belt, determine packing preferences, answer questions, and provide information on special promotions while delivering prompt and courteous service.
2. Pack member orders into boxes and load them onto a separate trolley or flatbed. Check packaging for tampering and follow all safety and security procedures. Assist with loading orders into cars when necessary.
3. Retrieve items such as merchandise, boxes, register supplies, and item numbers as requested by cashiers to maintain a smooth checkout process.
4. Transfer items not on the belt to a separate trolley or flatbed as cashiers scan them. Adhere to proper departmental procedures for performing duties.
5. Maintain cleanliness of the register area and general front end space. Clean spills and trip hazards immediately.
6. Retrieve trolleys and flatbeds from the parking area using a rope with a clasping hook, pushing no more than 10 trolleys together. Keep the lot area free of debris and sweep in front of the building.
7. Perform related tasks such as setup and closing duties for the department, including returning products, collecting paperwork, restocking registers, and cleaning the area.
Additional Responsibilities
* Assist other areas within the department as needed.
* Support other departments within the warehouse as necessary.
* Operate the mechanical trash compactor/cardboard baler.
