The Company
We're partnering with a privately owned investment group that owns and operates a portfolio of real assets across Australia. This is hands on investing where performance is measured in operating outcomes, not just spreadsheets.
The group is scaling and maturing quickly, and they're investing in internal capability to support faster, more confident decision making across funds, assets and capital deployment. This hire is part of that next chapter, building capability that reduces reliance on external advisors and speeds up the quality of calls being made.
The Role
This is a newly created Senior Fund & Investment Analyst role built to become the internal scenario engine for the business. You'll sit at the intersection of funds, finance and transactions, producing decision grade insight at pace, especially when the questions are ambiguous, time sensitive and high consequence.
The key driver is simple: leadership needs to be able to test scenarios quickly and credibly, and understand what a decision means across budgets and forecasts, unit pricing, cash requirements, returns and overall fund performance. Today, that work can be slowed by imperfect systems, interlinked spreadsheets and external modelling support, this role brings the capability in house:-
* Partner closely with funds, finance and transactions to inform high-value commercial decisions
* Translate operating data into insights executive leaders can trust and act on
* Pressure-test assumptions and challenge inputs to improve decision quality
* Support new initiatives and portfolio changes with timely financial insight
* Bring structure and discipline to complex, fast-moving analysis requests
* Build credibility as the go-to person for forward-looking financial insight
About You
You're commercially sharp, calm under scrutiny and you don't need perfect data to produce a credible answer. You're the person who can take a messy question and turn it into a clean recommendation people can act on. You enjoy being close to decisions. You can challenge assumptions without being difficult, you communicate clearly and you move fast without breaking things.
Skills & Experience
* 5 to 6 years post qualification experience (approx.)
* Corporate finance, transactions, valuation, investment analysis, or adjacent background
* Strong modelling and scenario capability; you can build it and explain it
* Comfortable translating operating asset drivers into fund level outcomes
* Confidence dealing with senior stakeholders, you can hold your own
* CFA/CA/MBA helpful but not essential, judgement matters more than letters
* Comfortable working in imperfect systems and improving the approach over time
What's On Offer
A genuinely high impact role with direct access to senior decision makers, real assets and real outcomes. You'll be building a capability the business is currently missing, and you'll see your work directly influence investment and operating decisions.
Competitive remuneration with flexibility for the right person, plus a workplace that values pragmatism, transparency and momentum. This is not a "keep the lights on" finance job, it's a seat close to the engine room.
