We now have an exciting full-time opportunity for a Business Development Officer to join our Rockhampton office and play a key role in supporting the growth and expansion of our operations—particularly in labour hire across the mining and local sectors.
About the Role
This is a dynamic role where you will be responsible for building long-term professional relationships with clients, identifying new opportunities, and delivering workforce solutions tailored to their needs. A key part of the role is developing and sourcing labour hire opportunities—both local and FIFO & DIDO —for mining and civil projects across Queensland.
Key Responsibilities
• Build and establish a portfolio of new clients while growing relationships with existing ones.
• Identify and pursue new labour hire and project-based opportunities.
• Engage face-to-face with clients to understand their business needs and operational workforce requirements.
• Work closely with the internal team to align labour availability with upcoming project demands.
• Monitor labour trends and market movements to capitalise on emerging opportunities.
• Maintain a strong understanding of industry changes and competitor activity.
• Provide exceptional customer service and client relationship management.
Required Skills & Experience
• Current Coal Board Medical
• Current Standard 11
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience within the coal mining industry
• General understanding of CHPP operations
• Proven experience in sales, business development, or labour hire recruitment
• Track record of acquiring and retaining clients
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Strong work ethic and results-driven mindset
• Ability to travel regionally as required
• Valid driver's licence
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role (highly regarded)
