Safety Advisor Job Description
This role is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Safety Advisor, where you will play a crucial part in ensuring the health and safety of our employees and contractors.
The successful candidate will have the ability to handle multiple complex situations simultaneously and a demonstrated record of positively influencing key stakeholders to achieve SHET objectives.
This role will operate on an 8/6 roster. Flights from Brisbane and camp accommodation will be provided.
* Facilitate and develop risk assessments in alignment with the project's schedule of works;
* Develop, schedule and champion a project specific SHE Monitoring Program directly informed by completed, activity specific risk assessments;
* Monitor the effectiveness of the application of the Safety and Health, Environment and Training Management Plans on site and provide advice to the Project Manager on possible improvement initiatives;
* Contribute to and inject SHE risk based content within planned project communication forums;
* High level ICAM investigation experience essential;
* A key function of the role is enhancing the culture of workplace safety through mutual trust and respect.
The successful candidate will have exceptional communication skills with a natural ability and willingness to engage with the workforce through regular safety interactions and field leadership activities
Key capability requirements:
* Degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety;
* Mining site-based experience is preferred;
* Demonstrated ability to lead and facilitate risk assessments associated with mining work;
* Experience in SHE auditing, incident reporting and incident investigation.
