We currently have a vacancy for a Workplace, Health, and Safety (WHS) – Coordinator to join the Amazon AU AMZL Team.
This position is within DVT1 delivery station, reporting to the AMZL WHS manager.
This role is open to anyone with an interest in work health and safety and requires working with the WHS team to deliver high standards of safety within the delivery station.
The suitable applicant will be trained in standard work and tools used within the WHS function.
You will be a robust communicator, value teamwork, be proactive about safety, and act as a role model while engaging professionally with the entire delivery station workforce.
This is an hourly paid role on Night Shift, Monday to Friday 5pm to 1am.ResponsibilitiesAssist with risk assessments as required and follow-up control measures to completion.Advise associates and managers on company procedures and legal requirements within the level of the Coordinator's knowledge.Monitor the delivery station for compliance with company safety procedures.Assist in the implementation of Regional WHS management programs at site level.Assist with the investigation of incidents to establish root cause and develop required action plans with relevant processes.Update internal records regarding incidents, near misses and accidents, Area Observations, Safety Inspections, pre-start records and 'Safety Saves'.
Be involved in undertaking action plans to ensure continuing compliance with legislation.Maintain confidentiality in matters involving safety investigations.Monitor Dock and Yard safety procedures to ensure compliance.Carry out WHS training sessions for managers and associates as required.Demonstrate flexibility on hours worked to cover shifts and escalations as required.Basic QualificationsExperience with planning, performance metrics, and process improvement.Bachelor's degree in a safety-related field or a Cert IV in Safety.Preferred QualificationsExperience with data analysis.Experience in logistics or a similar industry.Acknowledgement of country: In the spirit of reconciliation Amazon acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community.
