The Community Personal Care Worker (PCW) provides essential personal care and support services to eligible veterans under the DVA's community support framework. The role is dedicated to maintaining the dignity, independence, and quality of life of clients by delivering individual, patient‐centred care.
Key Responsibilities
Personal Care Support
* Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Mobility support and management of individual hygiene and comfort needs.
Health and Wellbeing Assistance
* Support clients in reaching goals and health outcomes outlined in nursing care plans and medical routines.
Social and Emotional Support
* Build rapport with clients and foster a compassionate and respectful relationship.
* Assist clients with communication needs, including liaising with families and service providers.
Administrative and Compliance Duties
* Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided.
* Adhere to occupational health and safety protocols, infection control standards, and confidentiality policies.
* Participate in ongoing training to ensure care delivery aligns with current DVA requirements and best practices.

Requirements
* Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent) with a focus on personal care or community care.
* Current First Aid and CPR certification.
* Current Police Check.
* Driver's license and access to a reliable, insured vehicle.
