Varga Lawyers is an award-winning law firm offering services in the areas of Estate Planning, Probate, Deceased Estate Administration and Estate Litigation.
We are seeking an experienced Finance Officer / Bookkeeper to join our Adelaide office on a part-time or full-time basis reporting to the Directors. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, bookkeeping, and trust account administration.
This is a hands-on, varied role within a supportive and professional team environment.
Responsibilities
* Accounts payable and receivable processing.
* Bank and credit card reconciliations.
* General bookkeeping and financial data entry.
* End-to-end payroll processing.
* Client trust account management and reconciliations.
* Support for annual trust account audit.
* Liaising with external accountant as required.
About you / Qualifications
* Qualification in accounting or bookkeeping (preferred but not essential).
* Proven experience in trust accounting (essential).
* Minimum 1-2 years of trust accounting experience required.
* Strong payroll experience (essential).
* Minimum 6-12 months of payroll experience required.
* Proficient in XERO (essential).
* Minimum 1-2 years of XERO experience required.
* Experience with LEAP (Legal Practice Management Software) (preferred but not essential).
* High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
* Ability to manage competing deadlines and work independently.
* Self-motivated, proactive and able to work both independently and within a team.
